The beautiful quiet of January!
January 3, 2010 · Leave a Comment
I love autumn, it really is my most favorite season. The wonderful thing about the Fall in this household is that we have so much fun stuff that happens. The children begin a new school year and I find new committees to volunteer. We travel to see all of the Florida State Seminole football games in the RV. Fall birthdays and our anniversary, then of course all of the wonderful holidays! I love it all, but once it is over I am glad. Because once we get to January, there is this “stillness” that I love. The quiet that is the start of a new year. It is so cold outside, that you don’t mind being inside (in a pair of snugly socks!) getting things done! So many things to catch up on and new projects to start. I look forward to it all. I can’t wait to share some new projects!
Happy New Year to you all!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #29

I rarely make make long cards, so this challenge put me outside of my norm and I think I’ll doing this shape more often!!

Here is my take on the challenge:

Yesterday the children and I spent the afternoon with my friend Teri and her lovely children. We ended up at her house and got to talk about all things crafty. We laughed about all the ribbon we hoard, tools we had to have and never used and stamps we purchase and never ink up! Glad to know there are others out there too! Well this set is one of those that I have had for a while and never used. It is Time for You from Stampin Up. Thought it would be great on this card. The set also has a cute bike. Can’t wait to ink it up!
Thanks for stopping by!

Last week of summer…
August 3, 2009 · Leave a Comment
Time just keeps rolling along! I find it hard to believe the kiddos start a new school year next week! With 90 degree temps, it hardly feels like school should be in session! Over the weekend I made a few cards to celebrate summer. Three just because I had never used the set and one for a little girl’s 2nd birthday.

I’m building up my Copic supply and starting to really “learn” how these babies work! So much to learn though! This stamp is one I have had for a loooong time, but never inked up! The set is Vacation from Stampabilities.

The fist two cards use Amuse note cards and the stamp set I mentioned above. The third card has stamps from Stampin Up (Year Round Fun II), Hero Arts (Layering Circles and Rain Drop Background), Impression Obsession (sentiment) and the Stampabilities Stamp Set. The patterned paper is Amuse. And of course Copics!
This last card was made for a little one celebrating her 2nd birthday with a popsicle theme. She had an ice cream truck come to the party and the children went crazy! I must admit I indulged too! Nothing like an ice cold “bomb pop” on a hot Saturday afternoon!

The paper is My Mind’s Eye (yes I know…I use that paper ALL the time, but I love it!) and the image is from My Cute Stamps “Sweet Kawaii“. The set has such adorable images!
I have been working on some note cards that my Mom asked me to make for her girlfriends. So excited to be able share them with you when they are complete!
Enjoy your day!

Oh I thought this one was a toughie! That last small circle threw me off, but I did get one done in time! I recently found a box of goodies from Making Memories called Blossoms and Buttons “5th Avenue”. The small box has felt and paper flowers with a nice mixture of buttons. I loved the colors and thought I could use them on a card for the SSSC. I love the color combo (red, pink, pale orange, black and white).

I so enjoy these sketch challenges! Thanks Karen!
Have a wonderful night!

another “never been used stamp” found ink!
July 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I’m am loving this challenge! So nice to ink up a stamp that has never been used! I purchased this set a couple of years ago and never used all of the images. The Copic markers and paper piecing really added some “pop” on this card!

Can’t you just picture you and your girlfriends sitting on the beach (with a umbrella drink!) chatting about all the celebrity gossip? I was hoping to capture that with this card!
Stamp: Impression Obsession-beach fun (girls and sentiment); Gel-a-tin (flourish)
Paper and Ribbon: Papertrey Ink
Copic Markers
Have a wonderful Friday! Hope you are sitting on your back deck with that cold umbrella drink!!

a “never been inked” challenge!
July 8, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I have decided to give myself a new challenge. For the next week, I will make a card with a stamp that I have never inked up before now. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit how many have never been used! I’m a sucker for seeing a stamp on a blog or website and just HAVING to have it. Then the poor thing just sits, so sad and unused!
Today I made two cards from a set that I have used only one stamp from! I love the way these came out and will be using this again when the need arrives!

All paper Amuse; Stamps-Doodlebug Design; Copics
