I love this challenge that Lisa Johnson has on her blog! Her first (of many I hope!) challenge asks that the card have three elements: crystal, flower stamp and pale yellow. Here is my card:
I used a Stamp from SU “Time for You” that I am ashamed to admit was never inked before today (oh and there are others too!) and a flower stamp from Stampendous “Basket Topper” that matched the flowers in the basket. I used a pearl instead of a crystal (hope it still counts) and colored it with my Copics. I saved the sentiment for the inside and tried to not use ribbon–a hard thing for me! It was fun to do another challenge! Thanks for looking!
I rarely make make long cards, so this challenge put me outside of my norm and I think I’ll doing this shape more often!!
Here is my take on the challenge:
Yesterday the children and I spent the afternoon with my friend Teri and her lovely children. We ended up at her house and got to talk about all things crafty. We laughed about all the ribbon we hoard, tools we had to have and never used and stamps we purchase and never ink up! Glad to know there are others out there too! Well this set is one of those that I have had for a while and never used. It is Time for You from Stampin Up. Thought it would be great on this card. The set also has a cute bike. Can’t wait to ink it up!
Thanks for stopping by!
Time just keeps rolling along! I find it hard to believe the kiddos start a new school year next week! With 90 degree temps, it hardly feels like school should be in session! Over the weekend I made a few cards to celebrate summer. Three just because I had never used the set and one for a little girl’s 2nd birthday.
I’m building up my Copic supply and starting to really “learn” how these babies work! So much to learn though! This stamp is one I have had for a loooong time, but never inked up! The set is Vacation from Stampabilities.
The fist two cards use Amuse note cards and the stamp set I mentioned above. The third card has stamps from Stampin Up (Year Round Fun II), Hero Arts (Layering Circles and Rain Drop Background), Impression Obsession (sentiment) and the Stampabilities Stamp Set. The patterned paper is Amuse. And of course Copics!
This last card was made for a little one celebrating her 2nd birthday with a popsicle theme. She had an ice cream truck come to the party and the children went crazy! I must admit I indulged too! Nothing like an ice cold “bomb pop” on a hot Saturday afternoon!
The paper is My Mind’s Eye (yes I know…I use that paper ALL the time, but I love it!) and the image is from My Cute Stamps “Sweet Kawaii“. The set has such adorable images!
I have been working on some note cards that my Mom asked me to make for her girlfriends. So excited to be able share them with you when they are complete!
Enjoy your day!
I never thought I would be the kind of stamper to forget what I own. But I guess it happens to the best of us (or maybe those of us who purchase too much!!). Anywho, I was looking for another set when I happened upon Year Round Fun II. This was the first set I purchased from Stampin’ Up. I fell in love with all of the cute images, but found it hard to use the images on their own. I have done small projects with some of the images, but some have never been inked up—I know, terrible! So I pulled the set out (and dusted it off!) and came up with these cards:
Then I pulled out another set that is similar in size from Stampendous and did this card:
I did not put a sentimate on the strawberry card. Looking for that perfect one!!
It was so great to throw together such a simple card. And once the “design” was done, so easy to duplicate! I have been working on a couple more with other fruit. I’m just thrilled to get ink on some of these stamps!
So what stamps will you pull out and use for the first time this week? I’d love to hear what you purchased and never used!!
All cards used Amuse notecards and gingham paper.
Have a great night!
Have you ever had one of those days?? I made this card and spaced getting it posted! Too much on my mind trying to get ready to vacation!
This the card I came up with:
Great card for a little guys birthday!
This was the first chance I had to use Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Basics. I LOVE THIS SET! You will see I have used it in the next couple of cards I have made. I love the fact that you can make your own customized paper! How cool is that?!?! And yes, I currently own three polka dot stamps (excessive I know!), but really can you have too many polka dot stamps??

Ink: Palette-Orangerie and Grey, Stampin Up-Certainly Celery, Adirondack-Pool and Aqua

When I first started to make cards, I would pull out all of the supplies and only make one card. Well after being inspired by Michelle Wooderson, who always makes multiple cards when she has her supplies out, I have started to make more cards each time I sit down to stamp. This time I made a few more cards with the Stampin’ Up Loads of Love set when I was making my card for Kristina’s Color Challenge. Loads of Love was the very first set that I ordered from Stampin’ Up. I just fell in LOVE with that little truck and all the goodies that came with the Accessory Set!! I have made Valentine’s for both of my children using this set. Just change the driver and the color of the truck and *bam* boy or girl! So any how, these were the cards I put together, and yes a Christmas card already!!! I did not add any sentiments to the inside. So now they are ready when a need a card! Gotta love that!
So there they all are. It was fun mixing it up on each card. Which one is your favorite?
All note cards are Amuse
Pattern Paper: My Mind’s Eye (Yes I know I use this alot!!!)
Ribbon: pink, Amuse; green gingham, American Craft; orange gingham, Paper Studio; orange satin, Offray; red gingham, Bazzill Basics.
Colored using Copics.
Thanks for checking in!
